“Software is eating the world,” wrote\u00a0Marc Andreessen in 2011<\/a> in an essay for the WSJ.<\/p>\n

A recent survey of top technology startups by Deloitte<\/a> confirms Andreessen’s assessment. The survey found that for the 22nd consecutive year that the list of fastest growing technology companies were software companies. This finding also reinforces the declaration in\u00a0an article by Forbes<\/a> also in 2011 that “all companies are software companies”.<\/p>\n

Seven of Deloitte’s top 500 list were software companies:\u00a0ClassPass,<\/a>\u00a0Toast<\/a>,\u00a0Liftoff<\/a>,\u00a0SalesLoft<\/a>,\u00a0ShipHawk<\/a>, \u00a0iSpot.tv<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Cylance<\/a>.<\/p>\n
