For Digital Transformation to succeed in businesses there needs to be an executive that leads the way.\u00a0 Typically the CIO is that person.\u00a0 IDC recently made a forecast<\/a> for the progress that CIOs will make over this and the next few years in realizing digital transformation in their organizations.<\/p>\n

In a somewhat jargon-packed statement announcing the IDC results for their CIO predictions in 2018, Serge Findling<\/a>, vice president of Research for IDC’s IT, said that<\/a> “for CIOs and senior information and technology (IT) executives, the challenge is to think and operate like a digital-native enterprise in the face of the emergence of platforms, innovation accelerators, machine learning, augmented skills, micro-personalization, new partnerships, and new relationships. At the same time, change continues to move from linear to exponential and from evolving to episodic and unpredictable \u2014 requiring businesses to build digitally fueled adaptive processes, decision-making, and technology platforms to survive, let alone thrive.”<\/p>\n
