Gartner is predicting <\/a>that the global economic problems will help “cloud computing” services to grow rapidly this year.\u00a0 Customers are looking for ways to cut costs during this time of shrinking budgets.\u00a0 Gartner estimates that as much as $56.3 billion could be spent on cloud computing during 2009 — 21.3 percent higher than 2008. And once the economy gets back on track, they expect the uptake of cloud services to only accelerate.<\/p>\n

Ben Pring of Gartner said that “The IT market trends for the next couple of years remain highly uncertain. While short-term growth is expected to be inhibited, the potentially lower cost of cloud services is attractive to customers and will drive growth for these offerings.”<\/p>\n
