Accountants are beginning to find ECM a compelling tool in reducing costs and accelerating efficiency.\u00a0 The online publication BusinessSolutions <\/a>reports that ECM VARs are seeing much interest in accounting and accounts payable.<\/p>\n

The reason for the interest in using ECM for automating accounts payable is as follows:
\n– Invoices often contain large amounts of text and data that is manually captured and re-entered from the invoice
\n– Automation and electronic capture can make the process more efficient.
\nThe system can pinpoint exactly where the invoice is in the process.
\n– Invoice processing can be more easily decentralized across multiple offices or with outsourcers
\n– Electronic systems are considerably more space efficient than paper-based systems.
\n– Electronic systems allow responses to audits to be per.formed more efficiently, for example, for sales tax compliance reasons<\/p>\n
