The economic downturn has forced many companies to do all they can to reduce costs. That has been good news for vendors of collaboration software. Forrester Research<\/a> reports that as many as 70 percent of large companies will be evaluating collaboration software in the next 12 months to save money.<\/p>\n

Forrester says that “the down economy is a boon for vendors selling collaboration tools that can remove the necessity of travel as well as improve productivity.”<\/p>\n

Younger, technology-savvy employees in companies are contributing to the demand. Vendors that are benefiting from the trend include names like Microsoft, Cisco, IBM and Novell, but Forrester predicts that the real winners will be smaller vendors that are introducing greater innovation.<\/p>\n
