Additional information security risks, such as cyber security disclosure and GDPR compliance, ranked among the top five concerns of the executives surveyed.<\/p>\n<p>What factors are increasing business risk by companies using the cloud?\u00a0 Some factors include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasingly the cloud is used as the repository for data<\/li>\n<li>Third-party non-cloud provider access to cloud data<\/li>\n<li>Decentralized\/Departmental approach in getting cloud services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.cebglobal.com\/Matthew-Shinkman\">Matthew Shinkman<\/a>, practice leader, Gartner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2018-08-15-gartner-says-cloud-computing-remains-top-emerging-business-risk\">said that<\/a> &#8220;executives are right to expand cloud services as part of their digital business initiatives, but they need to ensure their cloud security strategy keeps up with this growth. Leaders should start by clearly identifying their most at-risk areas, which remain obscure to many large organisation leaders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.veracode.com\/about\/leadership\/chris-wysopal\">Chris Wysopal<\/a>, chief technology officer at Veracode, <a href=\"https:\/\/securityboulevard.com\/2018\/08\/gartner-cloud-smitten-companies-facing-unpredictable-cybersecurity-threats\/\">said that<\/a> the cloud &#8220;is a new infrastructure, and you have to understand how to use it securely. You can\u2019t use all of the traditional security technologies, so a lot of it is educating yourself on how to do it correctly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div
