Based on a survey of CIOs and senior IT executrives, IDC has published their list of top ten drivers for IT strategy in 2019:<\/a><\/p>\n

  1. By 2020, 80 percent of organizations say that IT executive compensation will be judged by how well the business does, not by internal IT metrics.<\/li>\n
  2. By 2020, 60 percent of CIOs will have introduced more comprehensive security frameworks that go beyond just guarding against cyberattacks.<\/li>\n
  3. By 2021, 70 percent of CIOs will have structured their APIs and architectures to provide agile interconnectivity between on-premise, cloud, partners and vendors.<\/li>\n
  4. By 2021, 70 percent of CIOs will be apply AI to their operations, tools and processes to save money and to improve agility and innovation.<\/li>\n
  5. By 2021, 65 percent of CIOs will be integrating agile DevOps practices with non-IT business processes.<\/li>\n
  6. Byt 2022, 75 percent of IT organizations will have transformed and rationalized thier infrastructures, applications and data architectures.<\/li>\n
  7. By 2022, 75 percent of CIOs who don’t transform their organizations to embrace digital methods will fail and their organizations will risk disruption.<\/li>\n
  8. By 2022, 65 percent of CIOs will need to revamp governance policies in order to address operations and risks from new technologies like AI, machine learning and data privacy.<\/li>\n
  9. By 2020, there will be a global 30 percent shortage of IT talent.\u00a0 Organizations will increasingly need to train and develop the skills of their staff members<\/li>\n
  10. By 2023, 70 percent of CIOs will fail professionally if they are not able to keep pace with changes in IT governance, strategy and operations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
