Artificial Intelligence is helping people and processes become more efficient and cost efficient. AI is changing everything and healthcare is one area in particular where the impact for change could be profound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘Iron Triangle’ is a principle developed by William Kissick<\/a> that says that there is a triangle of competing forces in healthcare: Cost, Quality, and Access. It is bounded by the fact that while we may have infinite needs, our resources are limited. It isn’t possible to simultaneously have low-cost, high-quality, and wide-access health care. Historically, choice is outside force that defines the dynamics between the three core factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaveh Safavi<\/a>, head of Accenture\u2019s global health practice sees Artificial Intelligence as another new external force that may shape healthcare dynamics. Safavi said that<\/a> “what we see now is a path to unlocking that triangle so you can improve one side without breaking the other.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dan Housman<\/a>, chief technology officer at Deloitte, said that<\/a> “we don\u2019t have enough labor to manage everyone\u2019s health all the time with a doctor and a nurse. So we need this boost of artificial brains to be able to support people.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PwC found that<\/a> “AI increases the ability for healthcare professionals to better understand the day-to-day patterns and needs of the people they care for, and with that understanding they are able to provide better feedback, guidance and support for staying healthy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Frownfelter<\/a>, chief medical information officer at Jvion, said that<\/a> “AI has evolved to a much more sophisticated use of deep machine learning and leveraging the power of big data.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
