It’s official.\u00a0 [Well sort of since it hasn’t yet been updated on the DoD JITC <\/a>site of certified 5015.2 products.] Alfresco’s Open Source ECM solution is now certified for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) 5015.02 standard.\u00a0 5015.2 is a standard that is endorsed by NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) and is often viewed as a best-practice model for records management in organizations.\u00a0 5015.2 is a certification that is mandatory for a records management software product to be sold to any part of the federal government. Alfresco features that enabled 5015.2 certification include:<\/p>\n

– a Forms system
\n– Metadata management \/ FilePlan Specification
\n– Lifecycle management
\n– Open import\/export capabilities
\n– Enhanced auditing
\n– Improved workflow controls<\/p>\n
