Many businesses and organizations have built apps to connect with their customers and users. But a lot of those apps, especially those from industries like healthcare and manufacturing are notorious for their poor user interface design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paddy Padmanabhan<\/a>, CEO of Damo Consulting, wrote that “human-centered design stands this logic on its head; the first step of the process of designing and building any product or service now starts with the understanding of user needs that define the use cases, requirements and principles that drive all subsequent decisions from the architecture to the form factor, ergonomics and interface components, all seen through the lens of the people who are going to use it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeremy Morgan<\/a>, consultant and tech blogger at Pluralsight, said that<\/a> “design is everywhere. For human-centered designers, the passion comes from making someone’s life better through your designs. It’s putting the human front and center, empathizing with them and using their needs and desires to drive your decisions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brent Lang<\/a>, President and CEO of Vocera Communications, wrote that<\/a> the best approach to designing new software “is to observe users in their working environments, engage with them, understand their processes and needs, and see how they\u2019re connected to other people\u2019s jobs. Then, find the best, most efficient ways to improve their lives.”<\/p>\n
