Businesses are adopting and using technology to rebrand and transform themselves. Analysts have been calling it ‘digital transformation’. Microsoft has been using the term ‘tech intensity’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Tech intensity is the potential for companies and countries to jump-start their growth by not just adopting technology, but by building their own technology too”, says<\/a> Satya Nadella<\/a>, Microsoft CEO. “I think of tech intensity as being an equation \u2013 (tech adoption<\/em>) ^ tech capabilities<\/em> = tech intensity<\/em>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bob Evans<\/a>, CEO at Evans Strategic Communications, interpreted the benefits of tech intensity<\/a> as a fusion of cultural mindset and business processes that rewards the development and propagation of digital capabilities that create end-to-end digital feedback loops, tear down data silos and unleash information flows to trigger insights and predictions, automated workflows and intelligent services.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nadella said that “the meme of the twenties will be retailers moving to their own tech intensity. It’s not about taking away the art of retail. It’s about building your tech intensity… You can’t be cool by association with a tech friend \u2014 you have to be cool on your own. You have to take pride in the digital capability that you have built.”<\/p>\n
