Well the good news is that after more than a year of bad economic news and sharp cutbacks from businesses of all sizes, business spending may be gradually picking up<\/a>.\u00a0 In the area of IT, capital outlays for new hardware is predicted to increase.<\/p>\n

67 percent of corporate and government IT decision makers are saying that things are looking up and they are ready to begin spending more on new hardware.\u00a0 And when just large businesses are considered, the number of businesses that will be loosening the strings for spending is up as high as 85 percent.<\/p>\n

The bad news though is in the area of IT hiring.\u00a0 Companies are still reluctant to start staffing up yet.\u00a0 There is also considerable uncertainty around what new obligations companies will have for workers because of congressional bills still pending, such as in the areas of health care reform and climate change.\u00a0 81 percent of companies say that the size of their work force will remain flat or decline over the next six months.<\/p>\n
