IDC announced the names of the top 9 most innovative information access companies<\/a> to watch.
\nThe criteria for selecting these companies was:<\/p>\n

– Must be under $100 million in annual revenues
\n– Must sell products with Web 2.0 style user interfaces that require little or no training
\n– Must be able to uniformly access information of all data types, across applications and repositories
\n– Must have capabilities to support intelligent process automation<\/p>\n

The list is slightly biased since companies have been self-nominated.<\/p>\n

The companies selected were:
\n* Carefx\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Integration of data sources and applications for healthcare)
\n* Connotate\u00a0 (On-demand business intelligence)
\n* Exalead\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Enterprise and web-based search)
\n* Fatwire\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Web content management)
\n* Jaspersoft (Open-Source business analytics and business intelligence)
\n* MarkLogic\u00a0 (XML infrastructure for integrating data solutions)
\n* NetBase\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Content Intelligence \/ Linguistic analysis of text)
\n* Recommind\u00a0 (eDiscovery and Risk Management\/Compliance)
\n* Vivisimo\u00a0\u00a0 (Enterprise Search)<\/p>\n

These are interesting companies operating in niche areas of information management.<\/p>\n
