By Dick Weisinger

Demian Entrekin, founder of SaaS vendor Innotas, has a list of 10 trends that he sees in SaaS:

– SaaS products bring their greatest value when they can incorporate business processes into their feature set
– Products that focus more on the user rather than the organization are more readily accepted by users
– SaaS products need to be compelling and make a good first impression within the first 3 minutes
– Cost is important.  Scalable products at low cost will gain market share.
– SaaS Tier 1 support becomes more important as company IT staff of experts shrink
– SaaS vendors will provide greater value to users by integrating with other SaaS products
– SaaS vendors will rely more and more on video training rather than text based tools
– SaaS vendors will begin to outsource more of their own operations for greater leverage
– SaaS vendors should tool their products to be either grid-compatible or cloud-compatible
– Technology has figured out a number of hurdles, but it is taking the back seat to marketing
