By Dick Weisinger

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the transformation of approach towards cybersecurity and the cloud by businesses. It has especially affected businesses with more than 500 employees — in these larger businesses, nearly 75 percent said that they have accelerated their migration plans to the cloud, according to a survey by Centrify.

Rohan Vaidya, Managing Director at CyberArk, said that “with remote working becoming the new normal, it has become a necessity for cybersecurity experts to provide guidance on the threats that pose the maximum risk to organizations and employees as well as ways to tackle them. “

Samantha Humphries, security strategist at Exabeam, said that “largely as a result of COVID-19, organizations that had adopted a ‘wait and see’ approach have had no choice but to climb aboard the cloud bus, regardless of their concerns.”

Flint Brenton, President and CEO of Centrify, said that “our research shows that enterprises are learning from the pandemic, and that the availability and flexibility gained in the cloud are must-haves in the new reality. This revelation will inform the world’s IT and security decisions long after COVID-19 diminishes in threat level.”
