Collaboration: Organizations Demand Video Collaboration

By Dick Weisinger

A survey of businesses find that 90 percent of them think that the use of  video has the potential to improve the way that their business communicates.  But a majority of those same organizations feel that they don’t have the right tools to be able to create quality video.  In fact many report that they’ve had recent problems with just uploading, downloading or streaming videos.

Vern Hanzlik, senior vice president and general manager at Qumu, said that “Organizations looking at the next level of communications tools should be considering video on their portals as a top priority.  The industry research tells us that employees are ready; now companies need to follow their lead and start deploying the tools and resources to meet employee demand.”

  • 64 percent organizations would like to use video training for their workers
  • 44 percent think that the use of video would help them improve the interaction of employees with their human resources/employee benefits departments
  • 40 percent of organizations say that video could help them to improve their communication both internally and externally
