Development Teams: Optimizing Team Productivity and Effectiveness = Increased Profitability
Software development teams that aren’t operating at peak performance can be costly. Actuation Consulting, sponsored by Accelerance, published a list of three areas that software teams need to have under control to be successful:
- Prioritize tasks. Clearly listing tasks in prioritized work order can help a team perform well and meet financial goals.
- Define what “done” means. Team members know what steps are needed to build their product, tasks like coding, unit testing, integration testing and design notes. Clear definitions of these deliverables allow team members to know when tasks are “done”.
- Focus on quality and value rather than development costs. Emphasizing quality rather than resource costs and development time can lead to a product that are higher-quality and more profitable.
