CAD Rendering now available for Alfresco

New Extension is compatible with both Enterprise and Community

The newly released Formtek CAD Rendering Extension provides custom transformers that render AutoCAD and MicroStation files for viewing within Alfresco Share. The CAD Rendering Extension automatically transforms DWG™, DWT™, DXF™, DWF™, and DGN™ file content into PDF (preview), PNG (thumbnail), and JPG (image preview) formats for use in Alfresco Enterprise or Community editions.

The preview rendition includes the drawing’s model space and all layout views in the form of a multi-page PDF. When you display a drawing in the Alfresco Share Document Details window, each available drawing view can be previewed as a separate page in the preview pane, as shown for the AutoCAD drawing below.
