SOA: Companies' Grip on SOA Governance Slipping

By Dick Weisinger

Nearly 90% of companies admit that their process for reviewing services to introduce into their SOA framework is lacking. That according to SOA Forum’s recent survey.

The results of the survey are:

  • 88 percent of companies think that their current SOA governance is lacking
  • 85 percent of companies have not introduced automation into their SOA governance process
  • 80 percent of companies worry that their organizations are at risk because of insufficient SOA governance
  • 46 percent of companies with 50 or more services are using more than half of their services with no governance review
  • Companies that use automation with governance are able to review more than 75 percent of their services

The bottom line is introduction of automation can improve companies compliance and minimize the chance of surprises.
