Technology Hotspots: Software Dominates Top New Technology
“Software is eating the world,” wrote Marc Andreessen in 2011 in an essay for the WSJ.
A recent survey of top technology startups by Deloitte confirms Andreessen’s assessment. The survey found that for the 22nd consecutive year that the list of fastest growing technology companies were software companies. This finding also reinforces the declaration in an article by Forbes also in 2011 that “all companies are software companies”.
Seven of Deloitte’s top 500 list were software companies: ClassPass, Toast, Liftoff, SalesLoft, ShipHawk, iSpot.tv and Cylance.
