AI-based Cybersecurity: Benefits of Quicker Response and Lower Detection Costs

One-fifth of organizations say that they were victims of cyber break ins during 2018, according to a CapGemini report. And of those, 20 percent say that the costs associated with the breach totaled more than $50 million.

Many think that security based on Artificial Intelligence is needed to help mitigate security risks. CapGemini found that the use of Artificial Intelligence for cyber security protection is already being commonly deployed by many organizations for cyber threat detection.

Nicko van Someren, Chief Technology Officer at Absolute Software, said that “AI tools are also getting better at drawing on data sets of wildly different types, allowing the ‘bigger picture’ to be put together from, say, static configuration data, historic local logs, global threat landscapes, and contemporaneous event streams.”
