Ernst and Young Transaction Advisory Service recently performed a survey of nearly 200 IT managers and CIOs.
The survey found that SaaS is increasingly being used by businesses and is expected to take a growing share of the IT budget.

IT professionals were asked their opinion of IT:

50 percent – Supports SaaS enthusiastically, even if it was originally adopted by shadow IT
25 percent – Supports the status quo, SaaS or otherwise
25 percent – Prefers traditional IT and wants to shut down any SaaS initiatives

How much of the total company IT budget is controlled directly by IT?:
Now – 75 percent
Future – 66 percent

What percent of your server, storage and network management infrastructure is in SaaS?:
Now – 5-15 percent
Future – 40-50 percent
