Cloud Computing: Executives Believe that the Cloud is Accelerating Innovation and Productivity
In an SAP-sponsored report, Oxford Economics found that:
- 69 percent of organizations are expected to make medium-sized to large investments in the cloud over the next three years
- 44 percent of enterprises are using the cloud to help create new business models
- 32 percent of enterprises are using the cloud to help manage their supply chains, and this is expected to grow quickly
- 59 percent say that they use the cloud to help perform analytics with their data
The report found that the three areas expected to see some of the most new activity by enterprises over the next three years include:
- Top-line growth
- Employee collaboration
- Supply Chain
Rob Glickman, vice president of Cloud and Line-of-Business Marketing at SAP, said that, “as we’ve long believed, the cloud is far more than a means to lower total cost of ownership; it’s a platform for doing business in entirely new ways,” said . “These survey findings confirm the trend. Early cloud adopters are now seeing strong returns on their initial investments, and they can feel satisfied that their strategy of embracing the cloud is now proving to be extremely beneficial to their business.”
