Compliance/Discovery: eDiscovery isn't Working

By Dick Weisinger

An interesting report from Robbins-Gioia found that 65 percent of the respondents said that eDiscovery was not working for them. The survey was taken among 70 senior records managers at an ARMA conference in October 2006.

55 percent said that their companies were dedicating less than 5 percent of their IT budget towards improving Records Management and eDiscovery.

Among those organizations that graded themselves as ‘perfect’, 94 percent said that they had a project management system in place around their Records Management program, indicating that a structured process encourages success around compliance.

The complete report covers the results of survey questions about:

  • organization’s project initiatives
  • compliance and records management practices
  • top business priorities
  • the changing role of the records and information life cycle management environment in organizations
