Content Management: Secrets of the Trade
AIIM has a new theme for 2010 and it is all based around the number ‘eight’. They’re calling it ‘8 things’. The plan is to use the number eight as a central part of AIIM marketing. Particularly in the area of education — breaking down topics into blocks of eight provides a framework for learning. Most people can only remember four to seven things at a time, but since people involved with ECM are typically exceptional, eight is probably about right.
With that in mind, John Mancini, president of AIIM, created and edited a free ebook that examines eight important areas of ECM. The ebook is called “8 secrets of an effective content or records management implementation” and is a collection of contributions from eight different ECM vendors, each providing a perspective and a set of eight guidelines. So it actually works out to 64 guidelines, plus another eight contributed by Mancini in the forward to the book.
