Digital Transformation: Business Leaders Aren’t Prepared for IT Modernization
60 percent of IT leaders of large and mid-sized businesses say that their companies just aren’t ready to move ahead with IT modernization, based on survey results from IBM.
Spearheading the modernization of businesses is a move to the cloud. 95 percent of leaders said that central to any modernization program would be to transition from on-premise applications and services to the cloud.
Archana Vemulapalli, General Manager, IBM Infrastructure Services, said that “our clients are looking to accelerate IT modernization by leveraging cloud models – both public and hybrid, data, AI, automation and other key technologies to help shape, scale and manage more effectively massive, complex, global architectures.”
While achieving transformation will likely require that some hurdles be jumped, the opportunity and benefits that are possible can be huge.
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said that “The next decade of economic performance for every business will be defined by the speed of their digital transformation.”
Bill McDermott, CEO of ServiceNow, said that “today, digital transformation is the opportunity of this generation.”
