Digital Transformation: Trends in a Rapidly Evolving Industry

Digital Transformation has been accelerating over the last two to three years and the landscape of digital continues to evolve.

IDC has made predictions for Digital Transformation in 2022 which include:

  • Bigger investments. By the end of 2024, IDC expects that 55 percent of all enterprise budgets in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector will be for Digital Transformation
  • Digital Influence Grows. More than half of the world’s economy is in some way impacted by the digital technologies.
  • Digital’s Effect on Real World. By next year 90 percent of businesses will prioritize spending on digital tools to augment their physical presence.
  • Automation Expanding. By 2025, 60 percent of global organizations will have adotped some amount of automation.
  • CIOs Transition to Digital. By 2026, 54 percent of CIOs will be leading with technology roadmaps that focus on digital, data-driven, and collaboration.
  • Trickle-down Digital. By 2024, 60 percent of employees will have access to low-code and tools for data utilization.
  • Digital ROI. By 2023, half of companies will generate more than 40 percent of their revenues from digital.
  • Cross Functional Teams. Digital will allow teams to better collaborate and work cross-functionally across disciplines to achieve higher rates of innovation and greater productivity.
  • Decarbonization. Digital transformation will enable companies to reduce their carbon footprints.
