e-Discovery: Dramatic Savings with Categorization
Emails and electronic documents now dominate today’s business communication. As a result, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) includes requirements for how to handle electronically stored information during litigation and regulatory investigations. The process of forensic inspection of electronic data is often known as e-Discovery.
Classic eDiscovery can be a slow process. Investigation experts average being able to process about 30 to 60 documents per hour. It’s no wonder that eDiscovery costs can skyrocket when many individuals and the documents that they created are involved in the investigation.
For example, consider an investigation that centers on a group of 25 people over a period of 60 days. The number of emails involved in the investigation could reach 70,000. Higher profile investigations with a broader scope could easily require that many more emails and documents be examined.

Applying eDiscovery software tools lets companies significantly reduce costs and effort needed for the discovery process while minimizing company exposure.
