Exascale Computing: A Game-Changer for Businesses

Exascale computing is the ability to perform one quintillion (1018) calculations per second, which is about 1,000 times faster than the current most powerful supercomputers. Exascale computing is not a distant future, but a present reality. The US Department of Energy has announced that it will deploy three exascale supercomputers in 2023: Frontier at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Aurora at Argonne National Laboratory, and El Capitan at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. These supercomputers will be used for scientific discovery, national security, and economic competitiveness. China and Japan are also expected to launch their exascale supercomputers in 2023.
