Mobile: Small Businesses Leverage Mobile for Competitive Advantage
94 percent of small and medium-sized (SMB) business owners say that they can’t live without their mobile devices. They report higher efficiency when using their smartphones, tablets and notebooks. 67 percent say that their company would competitively lose out if they did not use mobile devices. And 60 percent say that mobile devices improves company-internal communications, such as between staff members and managers, and also external communication with customers. Those are the results of a recent report on mobile technology from CDW.
Other findings of the report include:
- 28 percent of small businesses say they have mobile web sites
- 23 percent say that they market their business with text messaging
- 17 percent of companies say that they offer mobile coupons
- 14 percent offer mobile apps
Jill Billhorn, CDW vice president for small business, said that “CDW’s report says that small business users consider productivity and business apps on mobile devices to be game changers that make them more efficient and competitive. They want still more apps to help them manage unique aspects of their businesses, and the prospect is for dramatic growth in tablet use. That expanding demand, though, also means there is a growing need for solutions to manage and secure mobile devices.”
