Artificial Intelligence: Marketers Adopt AI Tools to Influence

By Dick Weisinger

Digital marketers are adopting artificial intelligence in a big way. AI is assisting marketers in the following ways, according to Gartner:

  • Conversational – Natural Language Processing will be used to create unique directed conversations with customers with both voice and text.
  • Personal – Interactions will be personalized and tailored to customer context, intent, and journey stage.
  • Targeted – AI will better be used to identify and profile the customer to make sure the messaging is relevant.
  • Analytics – Easier-to-use analytics will make analysis more accessible and feature-capable.

Gartner predicts that “Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform the practice of marketing in significant ways. AI will power insight, intuition, and scale to help marketers realize the long-held desire of building individualized, contextual relationships with each prospect and customer. Although several years away from being realized by even the most advanced marketers, the long-term effects of AI should not be underestimated.”

Mike Froggatt, Senior Director Analyst at Gartner, said that “in particular, the use of AI is expanding into targeting, measurement, identity resolution, and consent and preference management, and even in some advanced cases, generating creative content with generative AI tools.”
